We had a nice fun little session last night with buddies Pierre and Julien at Christophe's.

Pierre's neat little sketch. Warming up. He said it was soooo long since he last touched a pencil. I find it sad and quite infuriating, i must admit. So must wasted talent....

Here is another page from the book. I have been very disciplined to stay away from the PS3 over the Holidays so far, and have done 4 pages. This one is straight out of the oven. I hope to do a couple more at least before heading back to work. I have a blast doing that book, and never tire of it.

I admit not really remembering when i did those, (one of those drink/draw night i guess, with one drink too many). But judging from the chosen colours, i guess i must have been feeling somewhat patriotic then.....

Little session between Chris and i the other night. Everybody else was scared away by Chris' swift brushes and too tight "Marcel"....

I took the opportunity to carry on roughing out thumbnails for my graphic novel, "Ma Reverence", written masterfully by Wilfrid Lupano.

......and here is a little sneak peek at my forthcoming new sketchbook, published by my favorite comic book store "House of Secrets", in Burbank.

Hey guys!

After having been to San Diego Comicon for (only) one day, and picking up some cool books, i was motivated to draw for fun.

Here is another "Dear John" doodle, trying to be more illustrative than i have been in the past.

I want my drawings to convey a story first, and try to put more care on composition.

I think the "blacks" are very random and unbalanced here. The black pants/boots attract the eyes too much. I should have tried a few variations first. But hey....

I was kinda happy with the crossing diagonal lines, and the last minute "tags" on that sign though, for explicit mood from that poor guy.

I am inspired to draw some tender scenes of lovers too, and have a bit of fun with brushes and paper, since i mostly draw on Cintiq nowadays.

Tomorrow, tuesday 26th, the gang and i will finally have another sketching session, which we had to put aside for waaaayyyyy too long. I (or we) will share the moment.

I have grown veeeeeeery tired of drawing chicks without context, like this kind bellow.

I am putting together another sketchbook and ran through drawings inspired by the DB's (http://www.drawingboard.org/) monthly threads for the past few years, and found myself

very sad of having lost that storytelling "drive", which was necessary for those back then.

So i decided to give a go at context once more, and called this sketch bellow "Dear John",

Everyone' schedule (hehe) is still a little messed up. But the Sketch Sessions will have to resume soon.

Tomorrow, we are having a mini Comicon at the studio, with plenty of

stuff from some of us. I will be selling some of my sketchbooks.

I think Christophe will have a bunch of prints there too.

And there will be an exhibition of collectable artwork from famous illustrators too.

I will be sharing my most beloved Oliver Hurst illustration , among some Adam Hughes pages and one of Denis Bodart' s illo for Spirou.

I heard J.Katsenberg will be sharing his collection too.............

I will post pictures.

We unfortunately haven't been able to keep our sessions happening as much as we wanted.

It will soon be corrected, once we all get our shit together, but in the meantime, i am taking this opportunity to share and tease about what i have been drawing mostly recently.... A graphic novel masterly written by the brilliant Wilfrid Lupano. So , yes, my drawing "without a cause" habits have been somewhat suffering, but i am enjoying every single (too rare) moment i spend illustrating Wilfrid' s vision.

February 28th Session.

Sorry for the few missed updates, guys and gals.

Everyone was quite overloaded to attend anything fun or social at night....

But we had a minimal little session with Chris then nevertheless....

Christophe always makes fun of my very crappy little camera, but i enjoy shots like this one.

I am trying to do a commission with a lot of weight upon (breast cancer) , and keep failing at

being a good enough illustrator for the purpose. I keep drawing the same idea and then toss it

because my skills are plain amateurish........

.......but i do like that shot of that little sketch.....

There is another thing, other than dear friends, pizzas, wine, beers and laughters, that i really like about those sessions, is getting those kinda shots from my stupid crappy very portable little camera...

An attempt at sketching for the DrawingBoard's monthly Girl thread (Irish gals), but not

satisfying . Too cliche, too lame.

Another to dwell upon for the thread. There's a hint of an idea, somewhat a few yards away from the usual cliches, with a hint of a story..... I might go further with this.

Another Irish sketch for the occasion. Nothing new or innovative, but trying to get those

strong bar lines across for better comp' and framing.

Oh, yes, i do love Ireland and Irish girls.

I have a few other ideas for illos that i must find time to serve rightfully , if only to celebrate

the brilliant sense of humour from my Irish girl friends.

i didn't want to post this pic' . I look like i am 7 months pregnant, and it hurts a little.....

Anyway, we have such an amazing time trying to take this picture, all together that night, not

too good with the automatic timer on the camera that we had a few tries......

But we had such a good time. Beware, Christophe's laughter has always been so contagious.

Stephane had sent me scans of his drawings, and here they are........although i have NO idea who this fellow is underneath here.............. some kinda mutant homeless relative i guess.

Here are some pics from yesterday' session, which had quite a good turnout.

Stephane "Winnie aux betonneuses" Kardos was there , with Nico "peintre en pierres enrhume" Weis, Pierre "Annie Award is mine" Perifel, and Alexis "dessine moi un elephant volant" Wanneroy.

Nico suggested a drawing game , (to change from the drinking one) where we 'd blindly pick some words for an object, an animal and a character and combine them all in a drawing.

Christophe was often the subject of the drawing, whatever the context....
